Amalia
Bio
Amalia Pérez was born in Buenos Aires. Amalia Pérez carries out an intense activity as a soloist, as well as a chamber musician and a teacher. Currently, she is the principal flute of the Argentine National Symphony Orchestra.
As a soloist, she has performed alongside the Argentine National Symphony Orchestra, the Mar del Plata Symphony Orchestra, and the Sinfonieorchester Basel, among others. She has also performed under the direction of prominent figures, such as, Kurt Massur, Krzystof Penderecki, and Heinz Holliger.
She obtained first prizes in the “XXVI Concurso Estímulo para Jóvenes Concertistas” (Argentina) and the “35ème Concours National d’Exécution Musicale” (Switzerland).
She was awarded scholarships by renowned institutions, such as, Mozarteum Argentino (Argentina), Festival Campos do Jordão (Brazil), Lyra Stiftung, Cantilena Stiftung and Louis Brodsky Stiftung (Switzerland).
Amalia Pérez studied in Argentina under Fernando Quiroga and Patricia Da Dalt,
In 2009, she traveled to Basel after being accepted by the Musik-Akademie Basel, Hochschule für Musik (Switzerland), where she studied under Kiyoshi Kasai and Felix Renggli. After she obtained her bachelor’s degree, she graduated with distinction as a Master of Arts in Performance and as a Master of Arts in Specialised Music Performance – Solo Performance Major.
